There is no LEIE search app — OIG publishes two search resources
As of 2026-08-14, OIG offers exactly two ways to search the List of Excluded Individuals/Entities: the LEIE Online Searchable Database, a web form that takes up to five names at a time, and the LEIE Downloadable Database, a CSV of every exclusion currently in effect. OIG publishes no mobile application for either one, and no third-party tool — including this one — can substitute for the online search at the identity-verification step.

The row that decides most workflows is the identity column. The Privacy Act prohibits OIG from distributing Social Security numbers, so the downloadable file contains no SSNs — which means a download-only process can surface a name match but can never finish the verification. OIG instructs downloadable-database users to confirm results by entering the SSN for an individual, or the EIN for an entity, in the Online Searchable Database. A matching first and last name is not sufficient on its own.
Timing matters too: OIG updates all exclusion information by the 10th of each month, and each file covers actions taken during the prior month — so a file published in August reflects exclusions through the end of July. OIG archives monthly supplement files for the previous 12 months only.
